Detailed Rajasthan 7 Nights 8 Days Itinerary

The itinerary below balances sightseeing and road travel. Exact start times should be confirmed with the driver because entry timings, traffic, weather and seasonal crowd levels can change. Monument tickets, guides and activities can be selected according to your preferences.

Day 1: Arrival in Jaipur

Meet your driver at Jaipur Airport, railway station, bus stand or hotel and transfer to your accommodation. Depending on arrival time, begin with relaxed attractions such as Birla Mandir, Albert Hall Museum and Patrika Gate. An evening walk through Bapu Bazaar or Johari Bazaar introduces Jaipur's textiles, jewellery, handicrafts and local snacks without making the first day tiring.

Guests arriving early can add City Palace or Jantar Mantar. Late arrivals can keep the day for hotel check-in, dinner and rest. Our cab service in Jaipur provides door-to-door travel support.

Overnight stay: Jaipur

Day 2: Jaipur Sightseeing

Start early for Amber Fort and explore its courtyards, gateways and palace areas before stopping near Jal Mahal for photographs. Continue to City Palace and Jantar Mantar, followed by an exterior view of Hawa Mahal. If time permits, choose Nahargarh Fort for a panoramic city view or Jaigarh Fort for military architecture.

Comfortable footwear and water are useful because fort visits involve walking and steps. Families can divide attractions between morning and afternoon. See our two-day Jaipur sightseeing tour for more local ideas.

Overnight stay: Jaipur

Day 3: Jaipur to Pushkar via Ajmer

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Ajmer. Visit Ajmer Sharif Dargah while respecting local dress and access guidance. You may also include Ana Sagar Lake if time allows. Continue to Pushkar, check in and explore Pushkar Lake ghats and the Brahma Temple. The town is best experienced on foot around its compact market lanes.

The Jaipur–Ajmer–Pushkar journey is approximately 150 kilometres in total, depending on the selected route. Review our Ajmer Pushkar tour package for more details.

Overnight stay: Pushkar

Day 4: Pushkar to Jodhpur

Enjoy breakfast and depart for Jodhpur. The drive is roughly 185–200 kilometres and normally takes around four to five hours with a suitable break. After hotel check-in, use the evening for the Clock Tower area, Sardar Market or a relaxed rooftop view of Mehrangarh Fort. This lighter schedule prevents the intercity day from becoming rushed.

Travellers interested in crafts can browse spices, textiles, leather products and local souvenirs. Keep major monuments for the next morning when energy levels and daylight are better.

Overnight stay: Jodhpur

Day 5: Jodhpur Sightseeing

Begin with Mehrangarh Fort, allowing enough time for its galleries, courtyards and viewpoints over the Blue City. Visit Jaswant Thada nearby, then continue to Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum subject to opening hours. Mandore Garden can be added if your group wants more outdoor sightseeing.

Jodhpur's old lanes can be busy, so a private vehicle provides convenient transfers while short areas may still be explored on foot. Learn more on our Jodhpur sightseeing tour cab page.

Overnight stay: Jodhpur

Day 6: Jodhpur to Udaipur

Check out after breakfast and drive to Udaipur. This is the longest road day of the itinerary. A Ranakpur Jain Temple stop can be considered when timing, opening rules and route conditions permit. The temple visit adds architectural value but makes the day longer, so it should be finalized before departure.

On reaching Udaipur, check in and relax. If daylight remains, enjoy Fateh Sagar Lake or an evening walk near Lake Pichola. Avoid packing too many activities into this day because road time can vary.

Overnight stay: Udaipur

Day 7: Udaipur Sightseeing

Explore City Palace overlooking Lake Pichola. Continue to Jagdish Temple, Saheliyon Ki Bari and Fateh Sagar Lake. Depending on time, add Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace, the Vintage Car Museum or Bagore Ki Haveli. A Lake Pichola boat ride can be planned according to weather, operating schedule and ticket availability.

Udaipur offers a gentler final sightseeing day with lake views, crafts and palace architecture. See our Udaipur sightseeing tour cab page.

Overnight stay: Udaipur

Day 8: Departure from Udaipur

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Udaipur Airport, railway station or your selected location. If departure is later, short visits or shopping can be arranged based on time. Keep a safe buffer for airport or railway reporting, city traffic and luggage loading.

The tour ends in Udaipur, avoiding a long return drive to Jaipur. A Jaipur return transfer or onward journey can be quoted separately.

Best Time, Vehicle Choice and Travel Tips

October to March is generally most comfortable. Winter mornings can be cool, while afternoons are pleasant. April to June is hot, so start early, stay hydrated and plan rest in peak afternoon hours. Monsoon brings occasional rain and attractive lake views, but timing should stay flexible.

A sedan works for two or three guests with limited luggage. Families often prefer an SUV or Innova-style vehicle. Larger groups can choose a Tempo Traveller in Jaipur. Confirm guests and luggage before booking.

Carry identification, comfortable shoes, sun protection and personal medication. Dress respectfully at religious sites. Before paying, request a written quotation showing the route, inclusions, exclusions, payment terms and vehicle type.
